Don't Discredit The Importance Of Proper Breathing

Did you know that over 90 percent of people today practice what doctors call FUTILE BREATHING. An average pair of lungs can hold almost two gallons of air. Yet, futile breathing means most people only settle for two to three pints! Not enough air can deprive the body of its much-needed oxygen demands.

One way to identify if your needs are being meant is to pay attention to where your breath is coming from...your CHEST or DIAPHRAGM. When you breathe in, is it just your chest that is expanding or do you feel it moving deep into your abdominal walls? If you are feeling your abdomen expand during each inhalation, you are most likely practicing "diaphragmatic breathing"...physiologically the most efficient. Also, be aware that breathing patterns can be a great determining factor of one's physical and emotional state. More on this later!
