"Immortal" Mushroom

Ganoderma Lucidum was so important in the ancient Chinese, it was (and still is!) known as the "Immortal Mushroom" or "Magical Fungus". That is why we created Spirit Reishi, to be true to the way the ancients used and understood this magical mushroom.

G. lucidum is a well-known Asian herbal remedy with a long and impressive range of applications. Global consumption of G. lucidum is high, and a large, increasing series of patented and commercially available products that incorporate G. lucidum as an active ingredient are available as food supplements. These include extracts and isolated constituents in various formulations, which are marketed all over the world in the form of capsules, creams, hair tonics, and syrups. 
With its growing popularity, many studies on G. lucidum composition, cultivation, and reputed effects are being carried out, and there are data that support its positive health benefits, including anticancer effects; blood glucose regulation; antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiviral effects; and protection against liver and gastric injury. However, most studies have been performed on animals or in cell-culture models. Human experimental studies have often been small, and the results are not always supportive of the in vitro findings. Now, the great wealth of chemical data and anecdotal evidence on the effects of G. lucidum needs to be complemented by reliable experimental and clinical data from well-designed human trials in order to clearly establish if the reported health-related effects are valid and significant. Many challenges are encountered due to a range of factors from dosage to production quality. Strategies for enhancing quality control procedures to define and standardize G. lucidum preparations are needed to determine mechanisms of action and to help characterize the active component(s) of this putative medicinal mushroom.

How is our Spirit Reishi produced?
Our Spirit Reishi superfood supplement combines the triple hot water extraction from only the fruiting body (standardized to a minimum of 20% immune-boosting polysaccharides) with the cracked cell wall spores (cracked to 99.8% to expose the highly adaptogenic triterpenes) of the legendary Red Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom. We never use any fillers, binders or excipients to ensure you get the cleanest and most potent reishi mushroom product available anywhere in the world.
The secret behind the potency of Spirit Reishi is how we work with nature to help coax the mushroom to produce the highest natural levels of health boosting phytonutrients of any medicinal mushroom.
First we start by looking at the local bioregion and identifying medicinal plants and grasses (40+ wild and indigenous plants) as the substrate for growing Spirit Reishi. These herbs are composted and used as the growth medium upon which our mushrooms are cultivated.
This process allows us to select the most robust genetic expression that is closest to its wild counterpart and thereby greater amounts of polysaccharides and triterpenes than normal lab grown reishi (often cultivated on just rice, corn or wheat).
Second, we only use the fruiting body of the reishi mushroom, never mycellium. Most other companies will use incredibly cheap substrate for cultivating the mycellium, like sawdust, or with tons of fillers like undigested rice and chitin (the indigestible fungal cell wall that your body can't break down). We figure that by using only by using a fruting body grown on the right substrate, you are ensured to receive the maximum amount of immune-boosting agents reishi mushroom is known for.
Third, we incorporate the cracked cell wall reishi spores (the "essence" of the reishi mushroom) by granulating the powdered fruiting body extract with the spores. It is the spores that contain the major triterpene compounds that, as research has shown, act as adaptogens on the body. This granulating process ensures you are getting a full spectrum reishi formula instead of just a single isolated compound.
Suggested uses for Spirit Reishi
Take 1/2 teaspoon 2 to 3 times per day with water, juice or a meal.  May be taken at the same time as other herbs to increase its effects (notable traditional combinations are with royal jelly or ginseng). 
If in an immune challenged condition, you can take up to 1 level teaspoon 2 to 3 times per day with hot water.
